Henry Darko is a professional tennis player from Ghana with an ATP high ranking of 275. His accomplishments include several Davis Cup ties for his native Ghana as well as 7 ITF pro circuit titles, and 6 ITF pro circuit doubles titles. Henry’s background and achievements provide him with a wealth of knowledge and experience needed to groom world class tennis players.

Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Henry excelled as a junior tennis player and went on to play in 25 Davis Cup ties for Ghana spanning a period of 12 years.  He was consistently ranked top of his age groups and received a full scholarship to the ITF Tennis Academy in South Africa for three years.  He finished top 20 in ITF singles world rankings and top 10 in doubles. In 2001, Henry made the round of 16 and semi-finals of doubles at the US Open juniors.  He also made it to the semi-finals of doubles at the Orange Bowl.

Henry earned a full collegiate scholarship to the University of Kentucky but made the decision to turn pro at age 17 after his first semester.  After turning pro, Henry accumulated 13 pro ITF circuit titles, a semi-final on the Challenger level, and one doubles Challenger title.  He has a 113-68 singles match record on the ATP world tour/ITF pro circuit.  Henry also had the opportunity to play a qualifying round at the 2005 Wimbledon championships.

Henry is a USPTR certified coach and joined the Windward Tennis Academy for 11 years after a wrist injury forced him to retire from the ATP Tour. he was the co-Director of the junior academy.

Henry has produced both State, Southern, and Nationally top-ranked juniors with 4 and 5 star recruiting status who have gone on to play for some of the best colleges in the nation including University of Alabama, University of Georgia, Elon University, Arkansas, Navy and Emory to name a few. Both juniors and adults alike enjoy and benefit from Henry’s passion for tennis and this has seen him succeed with coaching both USTA and ALTA Championship adult teams.

Henry enjoys his down time playing soccer watching his favorite team Manchester United.
